JULIE GEISSLER YOGA

Soul Sunday Practice
This monthly workshop (very 3rd Sunday of the month) is designed to support your ability to develop and deepen your personal home yoga practice. Each month we take a deep dive into aspects of the four Svastha domains: Habit and Change, Move Well (asana and vinyasa), Breathe Well (pranayama) and Awareness (meditation)... deepening your practice and building your skill, with understanding.
Next Soul Sunday is Sunday 21st December 9:00 - 12:00
Focus: Yoga for Women (drawing on the teachings of Nitya Mohan of Svastha Yoga & Ayurveda)
Who is this workshop for?
This workshop is for you if...
-
you are interested in developing a personal yoga practice that evolves with you and comes from your heart.
-
you’ve been exploring yoga for a short while, perhaps dipping in and out of movement classes, and are curious about getting started with a home practice that incorporates a range of yoga practices.
-
you’ve been to any of my classes, love the way I make yoga accessible and are ready to bring these practices into your everyday life.
Emily

Why yoga and why Soul Sunday?
We are all unique individuals with different hopes, dreams and goals! And yet, one common desire is to live happy, healthy lives.
-
Yoga is an ancient practice that has been proven to support health and wellbeing in many different ways. I love how many of the ancient practices of yoga, described in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, are being research in modern positive psychology (e.g. gratitude) and neuroscience (e.g. impact of breath on heart coherence)...
-
Yoga includes a diverse range practices, including pranayama (breathing practices), postures (asanas), movements (vinyasa), and meditation. All these practices are intended to help maintain your sense of balance, or bring you back to balance... both physical and mental.
-
Yoga - in its fullest sense, can support your health span (the length of time you live without chronic disease), especially when combined with other life habits.
It takes time and patience to nurture a yoga practice; to build the deeper connection with the inner experience of yoga; and that needs a personal practice. You can't build this in a group class. Of course, a group class can be part of your yoga journey, though the magic happens when you start to develop your self-practice and trust your intuition in those practices. Soul Sunday is aimed to give you the skills and practices to be able to do that.
Try on these beliefs about your home practice:
-
My home yoga practice can be as long or short as I choose it to be.
-
I can listen to my body and choose practices (from my growing body of knowledge) that align with my needs in the moment.
-
My practice will bring new healthful patterns into my life (my favourite one!)
-
I am excited to consolidate my practice & learn something new!
-
No matter what is going on around me, I can make time in my life to pause and practice yoga.
Please reach out if you are curious to join the next Soul Sunday workshop or would like a personalised class.
Thank you.
